Pumpkin Patch

Ivy and Kristian's pre-school went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch last week. I had to work (bummer) so my sweet sister in law, Nicki, went with them. She took these fun pictures of them.

Ivy is going though a "I can't smile" phase. As soon as I get my family pics from Dave you will see even worse smiles from Ivy!!!

Every year my kids have gone on this field trip, there is a guy that puts a pumpkin on his head and scares the kids (not too badly since they are only 3!!!) and every year he offers the kids a chance to put the pumpkin on their head. This year no one would do it except Kristian.... How brave he was :)

At the very end of the field trip each kid gets to pick out a pumpkin to take home. Ivy was so excited about it. She slept with it in her bed the first night that she had it! What a funny kiddo she is!

Oakland's 1st Birthday

Oakland turned one year old on Oct. 10!! I can't believe it! He weighs 26 pounds and is 31 inches tall. He is wearing 18 month clothes. He has 8 teeth and eatting everything he can get his hands on. And he has mastered walking (and running when he has something in his mouth that he shouldn't have!) So much to accomplish in one year!

We had a big Birthday bash for the kiddo with a Halloween theme (what else would you expect this time of year!) He loved the boxes and wrapping from the presents much more than he enjoyed the present itself! Ha!
Here is the birthday cake I made him. Note to self: Black frosting was a bad choice!

He was a little timid at first with the cake and just poked a finger at it.

Then after tasting it he dove right in.

What a MESS!

Thus the note to myself about black frosting... he was stained for days!

Reflections Contest

Austin decided the other day that he was going to enter the reflections contest at school. The theme this is year "Beauty is.....". He decided he wanted to enter the photography catagory. He went outside and spent about an hour taking pictures. I could not believe how good some of them are! Here are a few of my favorites.

So once again, these are BAD pictures because they were taken with my cell phone. I never seem to have my good camera for just the right moments.

We were at Dave's parent's house last night for dinner. I realized I hadn't seen Oakland for awhile. I walked into the kitchen and this is what I found!!!

Sneaky little stinker! I love the look on his face.... It's like "oh boy, I was caught" Ha!

Nap Time!

I caught Ivy and Dave taking a nap the other day. I thought it was soooo cute. Dave always covers his face with a pillow to keep the light out. Ivy was trying to imitate him. She is so funny.
Ahhh I was caught.....

Sorry for the poor quality of picture. I took it with my phone, emailed it to myself, saved it, and then downloaded it onto my computer. Wow I guess that is what I get for blogging while at work :)
