What is this?

Good grief!!! I thought we would have a few more years before we would have to worry about getting toilet papered! I know I did my fair share when I was younger, and I am sure I deserve every little bit that we get, but I thought it would be when Austin was a bit older. I ended up paying Austin and his friend .50 to go out and clean it up! Pretty good deal if you ask me!

Handprints

Grandma and Grandpa Gifford got a new driveway last week. We decided it would be fun to get the grandkids all together to "ruin" Grandpa's new driveway! While eating pizza, we watched the cement truck (pretty exciting for the little ones) and the men smooth the cement. It made for a fun evening. Finally the cement was ready for all the little hand prints. We even put in a "footprint" for Oakland so that he would be represented also! (I thought that a pretend footprint was a much better option than what David wanted me to do.... He wanted to have all the men lift me up and put a belly button print! Yikes that would have been a scary sight!) The kids thought this was an awesome thing to do to Grandpa's driveway... and the memories will be awesome also!

Grandma's Cabin

Saturday we decided to take a day trip to Dave's family cabin. It is located near Burley Idaho, by the Pomerell Ski Resort. It is so beautiful up there! It was a little chilly, but the kids had a great time. We went up with Dave's parents and 2 sisters. The kids enjoyed playing on the zip cord, tree swing, Grandpa's Mule, and going to the lake. We only wish it could have been a longer trip!

I took a gazillion pictures, of course. I put my favorites below and then put the rest in a slide show. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do! :)
The family down by the lake.
Dave and I (not the most glamorous, but we so seldom get our picture together, I thought I would share it.)
The kids had a great time playing together and just hanging out.
Ivy throwing rocks down by the lake.
Erin was insistent on wearing her flip flops so she could wade in the water even though it was freezing. She ended up getting EVERYTHING wet! She will probably end up sick! Oh well she had a great time!

Austin trying to skip rocks across the lake. None of us had much luck with this since there were not many good skipping rocks.
Grandpa's Mule was a favorite for everyone.

Sunday Night Visitor!

Sunday evening we went to Salt Lake City for a family party at David's brothers house. We got a call on Dave's cell phone from the neighbor girls. They wanted to know where we were and if we knew that we had a visitor at our house? I guess the rain we FINALLY received on Sunday drove this cute little moose down from the mountains. They said he was just wandering around our cul-de-sac and then detoured up our driveway into our backyard! Luckily my neighbor is quick and was able to take this picture. (I stole it from her blog! Thanks Letha!) I was sad we were not home to see our little visitor.

Happy Birthday!

On August 28th I turned another year older! I was really spoiled this year and had more of a Birthday weekend. On my actual birthday, when I got home from work, my kids had decorated the house. They got me presents and an ice cream cake (my favorite). That evening we went with David's family on one of our weekly cookouts. We roasted hot dogs and smores. My sweet sister-in-law Nicki brought me a mini cake!

Saturday we had a party with my family at the South Ogden Splash park, a great park with 2 huge playgrounds and a fun splash pad. While we were at the park, Ivy was trying to climb up on the picnic table to eat, her hand slipped and she fell face down on the edge of the metal table. Her poor eye swelled up so fast and started turning black and blue. While I was holding ice on Ivy's eye and trying to get her to calm down, Erin and Hunter started screaming. They had just run into each other. Hunter's forehead got Erin smack in the eye! So in a matter of minutes both my daughters ended up with huge black eyes! ( I tried to take pictures but you really can't see the black and blue coloring in either picture.) On Sunday morning both girls looked WORSE! Erin's black and blue goes all the way down her nose and cheek! Everyone at church teased us that we beat our children.... Sure looks that way:)

After the fun party at the Splash pad. Dave arranged for babysitters for mom and the kids and took me out to dinner. It was nice to get out just the two of us (it doesn't happen very often!) We went to Red Lobster (which I know is a huge sacrifice for Dave since he can't stand seafood!) After dinner we went and did a little shopping at the mall. What a fun and busy birthday weekend! Thanks everyone!

The pictures below are of the kids playing at the splash pad.
